Supporter for the RTFM Team
Other than our retirement funds we don't really have sponsors. But we are grateful to have a number of supporters - with expertise, encouragement, feedback and manual labor. Sharing pictures, borrowing parts and inviting to snacks and stories.
Boot 2 Bonnet
Nick Upton and the team at Boot2Bonnet are always there with advice and parts as well as body-work support in case of "race track incidents". Nick spent decades learning his trade, researching parts that are "better than" OEM quality and the team at Boot 2 Bonnet are masters in repairs and services.
Nick has sourced and supplied many specialist parts, does some of the machining work for us, as well as helps the team with figuring out our new-to-us engine dyno.
As far as sponsoring RTFM goes, Nick offers up his weekend days for track support, and dyno sessions to break in and tune our race engines!
Calver Special Tuning
Keith Calver from CalverST seems to be on-line almost around the clock with advice and information critical to race engine builds and pretty much everything you need to know to keep a Mini in top shape and have a reliable race car. Best to read his many technical articles on his webpage (RTFM !!) and his many publications which you can find on the web.
RTFM uses several of Keith' race prepared cylinder heads, race cams, oil pumps, lifters (I pretty much ONLY use his cam followers!) as well as a complete race engine built by Keith, which has proven to be powerful AND reliable!
Keith is working hard to source custom parts as well as constantly searching for ways to mobilize more horses that he can reliably propel our Minis!
BWR Motorsport
Brian Waters is not only a supplier of excellently designed high performance Classic Mini (and MG) race engine parts, but also a huge help when it comes to pretty much everything related to building and tuning high performance race cars, especially race minis.
Another true sponsor of the RTFM team, as he invested endless hours into the build of Anita's new classic race mini and teaching me how to build engines that last and perform!
RTFM uses his rotating assembly, dog engagement race gearset and many more parts in several of our race engines.

Ward Barbour
Long time successful Mini Racer, run-off winner and good friend. Ward has been with RTFM since our first day on track. In fact the picture is from my very first race in Portland in my own classic race mini. It was taken before all hell broke loose on Saturday, and the engine failed. We trailered the car to his shop on Saturday night, engine pull and repair, and were back to the track on Sunday for the race.
Aside from learning a lot about Minis, racing, and racing Minis, engine building and all, I also learned the lesson to "never give up", there is always a solution to any technical problem and you will be racing on Sunday!
Since then Ward has always been on our crew, coaching us and tirelessly wrenching and setting up the cars for Anita and I.
George Olson
Team Photographer and regular member of the crew, helped RTFM at many big events like the Velocity Invitational's Mini vs. Mustangs in 2022 and 2023, the Battle of the Brits in 2024 at Pacific Raceways, RoseCup races and many more race weekends in Portland OR.
Former Mini Racer, now photographer and avid Classic Mini enthusiast, always ready for the next Mini adventure!
Andy Biddle
Claims to be the reason we're in this, and might be right! Andy, himself avid Mini Racer, Classic Mini Enthusiast par excellence and also infected by the quite frequently encountered ADHD* introduced us to Classic Minis, helped us many times keeping the Minis running, always good for a story and of course, as the picture shows, his natural habitat is "deep into the engine bay" of either his or a club members' Classic Mini.
